I, FRANCES FITZGERALD, Minister for Justice and Equality, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Prisons Act 2015 (No. 57 of 2015), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Prisons Act 2015 (Commencement) Order 2017.

2. The 7th day of April 2017 is appointed as the day on which section 3 and Parts 2 and 3 of the Prisons Act 2015 (No. 57 of 2015) shall come into operation.
