CHILD ABDUCTION AND ENFORCEMENT OF CUSTODY ORDERS ACT, 1991 (APPOINTMENT OF CENTRAL AUTHORITIES) ORDER, 1993.

I, MÁIRE GEOGHEGAN-QUINN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 8 (1) and 22 (1) of the Child Abduction and Enforcement of Custody Orders Act, 1991 (No. 6 of 1991), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Child Abduction and Enforcement of Custody Orders Act, 1991 (Appointment of Central Authorities) Order, 1993.

2. The Minister for Equality and Law Reform is hereby appointed as the Central Authority to discharge the functions of a Central Authority under the Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, signed at the Hague on the 25th day of October, 1980.

3. The Minister for Equality and Law Reform is hereby appointed as the Central Authority to discharge the functions of a Central Authority under the European Convention on Recognition and Enforcement of Decisions Concerning Custody of Children and on Restoration of Custody of Children, signed at Luxembourg on the 20th day of May, 1980.

4. This Order shall come into force on the 3rd May, 1993.
