I, STEPHEN DONNELLY, Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 5 and 31 (amended by section 34 of the Health Act 1953 (No. 26 of 1953)) of the Health Act 1947 (No. 28 of 1947) hereby make the following regulations: |
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Infectious Diseases (Amendment) Regulations 2021. |
2. The Infectious Diseases Regulations 1981 ( S.I. No. 390 of 1981 ) are amended – |
(a) in Regulation 2 (amended by Regulation 4(1) of the Infectious Diseases (Amendment) Regulations 2007 ( S.I. No. 559 of 2007 )) by the insertion of the following definition: |
“ ‘registered pharmacist’ means a person registered in a register set up under section 13 of the Pharmacy Act 2007 (No. 20 of 2007)”, and |
(b) in paragraph (c) of Regulation 13(1) (amended by Regulation 4(5) of the Infectious Diseases (Amendment) Regulations 2007 ( S.I. No. 559 of 2007 )) by the insertion of “or any registered pharmacist” after “a functional area of the Health Service Executive”. |

These Regulations amend paragraph (c) of Regulation 13(1) (as amended) of the Infectious Diseases Regulations 1981 ( S.I. No. 390 of 1981 ) to provide for the supply from the Health Service Executive to registered pharmacists of such agents as per that regulation. |
