Abstract:

Dismissal - Constructive - Salary cut without consolution

Claimant worked initially from home for respondent then later in Ballyhaunis and Ballina offices. Company later amalgamated with a UK company. After the almagation her monthly salary was reduced by £400 with no explanation offered. Enquiries by her had frustrating results. At a later stage she was assured that all was fine and back-money would be paid but following this meeting she received a letter regarding downsizing the business and giving her one months notice to be served at home. Her union representative told her to report for work but after two days felt too much pressure and left. Contrary to the downsizing statement advertisements in local newspapers sought new employees.
