Children Act 2001 (Amendments to Part 11) (Commencement) Order 2006

I, Brian Lenihan, Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 2 (2) (f) of the Children Act 2001 (No. 24 of 2001) and the Health and Children (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order 2004 ( S.I. No. 842 of 2004 ), with the agreement of the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, hereby order as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Children Act 2001 (Amendments to Part 11) (Commencement) Order 2006. 2. The 1st day of December 2006 is appointed as the day on which the amendments made to Part 11 of the Children Act 2001 (No. 24 of 2001) in sections 156 and 157 of, and paragraph 30 of Schedule 4 to, the Criminal Justice Act 2006 (No 26 of 2006) shall come into operation.
