I, HELEN MCENTEE, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (3) of section 31 of the Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020 (No. 13 of 2020), and being satisfied it is appropriate to do so having regard to the matters specified in paragraphs (a) to (c) of that subsection as they relate to the body to which the following order applies and having consulted with the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, and the Minister for Social Protection, hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020 (Section 31) (International Protection Appeals Tribunal) (Designation) Order 2020.

(2) This Order comes into operation on 31 December 2020.

2. The International Protection Appeals Tribunal, in respect of its holding of hearings under section 42 of the International Protection Act 2015 (No. 66 of 2015) and for the purposes of section 31 of the Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020 (No. 13 of 2020), is designated and may hold such hearings before it by remote hearing.
