The landlord, who had acquired his interest in a dwelling-house in the year 1962, on coming to reside in Dublin, sought possession of the house as a residence for himself, his wife and two schoolboy sons. The tenant had been living in the house since the original letting in 1936 and became entitled to the tenant's interest upon his mother's death in 1960. He had recently married and resided in the house with his wife, a niece aged 12 years and to whom he stood in loco parentis, and a nephew, who was in employment.
