Conor McGregor breaks silence after confirming UFC return

The Notorious will return to the octagon later this year having not fought since 2021. The Crumlin man suffered a horror leg break in his bout against Dustin Poirier and is on a three-fight losing streak

But the UFC's biggest star will return to take on Michael Chandler in a fight that is expected to take place in Las Vegas. McGregor shared a snap of himself jogging as he prepares for the fight, saying: "Building nice."

A win for McGregor could see him be in line for a UFC title shot and he will no doubt put on the biggest show on 2023 with his return. Away from the octagon, McGregor has also become involved in talks to get Katie Taylor's blockbuster homecoming fight against Amanda Serrano staged at Croke Park.

Promoter Eddie Hearn had ruled out staging the bout at the Drumcondra venue due to the cost of hiring it. However, McGregor has offered to cover the €500,000 security bill to allow the fight to happen at GAA headquarters.
