Criminal Justice Act 2006 (Commencement) Order 2006

I, Michael McDowell, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1(2) of the Criminal Justice Act 2006 (No. 26 of 2006) hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice Act 2006 (Commencement Order 2006.

2. In this Order “Act of 2006” means the Criminal Justice Act 2006 (No. 26 of 2006).

3. The 1st day of August 2006 is appointed as the day on which -

(a) Parts 1 to 8 (other than paragraphs (c) and (d) of section 9 of Part 2 and sections 28, 30, 32, 33, 38, 40, 42, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61 and 65 of Part 5),

(b) Part 15, and

(c) Schedules 1 and 2,

of the Act of 2006 shall come into operation.

4. The 2nd day of October 2006 is appointed as the day on which -

(a) Parts 9 and 10 (other than sections 101(10), 101(12)(c), 102 103(1)(d), 103(4)(d), 107, 108(4), 109, 111 and 112 of Part 10) and

(b) Schedule 3,

of the Act of 2006 shall come into operation.

5. The 1st day of November 2006 is appointed as the day on which sections 42 57, 58, 59, 60, 61 and 65 of Part 5 of the Act of 2006 shall come into operation.
