Delegation of Ministerial Functions Order, 2002

The Government, on the request of the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform and in excercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) (No. 2) Act, 1977 (No. 28 of 1977), hereby order as follows:

1. The Order may be cited as the Justice, Equality and Law (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 2002.

2. The powers and duties of the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform conferred on that Minister of the Government by or under -

(a) the Childrens Acts, 1908 to 1989, and

(b) the Childrens Act, 2001 (No. 24 of 2001)

are delegated to Brian Lenihan, Minister of State at the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform.

This delegation of Ministerial Functions Order allows for the duties conferred on the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform by the Children's Acts, 1908 to 1989 and the Children Act, 2001 to be delegated to the Minister Of State, Mr. Brian Lenihan, T.D.
