Ambiguity - Evidence of intention of the parties - Extent of indemnity.

The defendant executed a contract of indemnity in respect of the default of B. W., "of No. 5 Lower Ormond Quay, in discharging the accounts for electricity supplied to her for a period not exceeding nine months at any time."Held, that the contract was ambiguous and (on hearing evidence that it was intended toapply only to the premises mentioned in it) that it did not apply to the supply of electricity to B. W. at premises other than those mentioned in the contract.
