EMPLOYMENT EQUALITY ACT 1998 (SECTION 12) (CHURCH OF IRELAND COLLEGE OF EDUCATION) ORDER 2008

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 11th July, 2008.

I, BATT O'KEEFFE, Minister for Education and Science, following an application to me in that behalf by the Church of Ireland College of Education and with the consent of the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, hereby, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 12 of the Employment Equality Act 1998 (No. 21 of 1998), make the following order with respect to which, pursuant to section 3(2) of that Act, a draft has been laid before each House of the Oireachtas and a resolution approving of the draft has been passed by each such House:

1. This Order may be cited as the Employment Equality Act 1998 (section 12) (Church of Ireland College of Education) Order 2008.

2. The Church of Ireland College of Education, Rathmines, in the city of Dublin, may reserve 32 places in its vocational education courses leading to the degree of Bachelor of Education of the University of Dublin and commencing in the academic years 2008/2009, 2009/2010, 2010/2011, 2011/2012 and 2012/2013, being such number of places as seem reasonably necessary to the Minister for Education and Science to meet the purposes set out in section 12(4) of the Employment Equality Act 1998 (No. 21 of 1998).
