I, Micheál Martin, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 29 and 30 of the Employment Permits Act 2006 (No.16 of 2006), hereby make the following regulations : 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Employment Permits Act 2006 (Prescribed Fees and Miscellaneous Procedures) Regulations 2006 and shall come into operation on 1 January 2007. 2. In these Regulations “Act of 2006” means the Employment Permits Act 2006 (No.16 of 2006). 3. A fee of an amount of €1,000 is prescribed in respect of an application for an employment permit under section 4 of the Act of 2006. 4. A fee of an amount of €1,500 is prescribed in respect of an application for a renewal of an employment permit under section 20 of the Act of 2006. 5. (1) Notwithstanding anything in Regulation 3 or 4, a fee of an amount specified in the determination referred to in paragraph (2), being an amount that is lesser than that specified in Regulation 3 or 4, as the case may be, may accompany the application referred to in Regulation 3 or 4, as appropriate, if the application falls within the following class of application. |

(2) That class of application is one determined from time to time by the Minister (which determination the Minister is, by virtue of this Regulation, empowered to make) to be a class of application that may be accompanied by a fee of an amount that the Minister specifies in the determination. |

(3) The amount that may be so specified may, if the Minister thinks it appropriate to specify such an amount, be a nil amount. |
