Family of TikTok solicitor Richard Grogan says videos were a 'genuine passion' and he will be 'sorely missed'

A statement from the family was posted thanking the public for their support and their engagement with Richard on social media. He had won the Lawyer of the Year award in October at the Irish Law Awards.

It said: "On behalf of Richard's family, we would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who supported and engaged with Richard on his social media. He got great enjoyment from these interactions. It was a genuine passion of his to educate while having fun, in a way only he could. He will be sorely missed by all. That's the law, and that's a fact."

Many took to the comments to pay tribute to Mr Grogan and the difference he made in providing important information to the public. It was also pointed out that he helped the young people of Ireland stand up for themselves.

Dr Doireann O'Leary said: "I've been thinking about Richard's passing all day. I think we all felt like we knew him. He was so genuine and engaging. It was clear he was passionate about his job and about helping people. My deepest sympathies to his family on your loss."
