MRS.
JUSTICE
SUSAN
DENHAM*
I
have been
honoured
by
the
invitation
to
write
a
foreword
to
this
publication
to
follow
in
the
footsteps
of
The
Honourable Mr.
Justice
Brian
Walsh.**
Judge Walsh
was
President
of
the
Dublin University
Law
Society
until
his
death
last
year.
He
took
great
interest
and
pride
in
the
Society.
He
was
concerned
that the
Law
Review would
prosper.
In
fact,
in
the last
week
of
his
life
he and
I
spent
some
time
discussing
the
future
of
the
Society
and
the
Review.
The
Law
Review
is
flourishing.
This
is
an
estimable
collection
of
articles,
a
significant
contribution
to legal
scholarship. In the best
tradition
the
contributors
have
tackled
some
of
the
important
legal
issues
of
our
time.
The Review should
be
read
by
students,
academics,
those
in
the
legal
profession
and
elsewhere,
and
all
interested
in
our
developing
Irish
jurisprudence.
The
articles
span
a
broad
range
of
subjects
including
constitutional
law,
criminal
law, evidence, torts, media
law,
taxation,
trusts,
intellectual property,
and
planning/administrative
law.
Many
of
the
issues
are
matters
of
current national
debate.
The
extensive
research
undertaken
by
the
authors
is
very evident.
This
has
been
followed
through
with incisive
assessment
of
issues.
I
have
been very impressed with
the
level
of
independent
thought
and
original
analysis
which
permeates
the
articles.
The
Dublin
University
Law
Society
is
to
be
congratulated
on
this
noteworthy publication.
