Infectious Diseases (Amendment) Regulations 2021

I, STEPHEN DONNELLY, Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 5 and 31 (amended by section 34 of the Health Act 1953 (No. 26 of 1953)) of the Health Act 1947 (No. 28 of 1947) hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Infectious Diseases (Amendment) Regulations 2021.

2. The Infectious Diseases Regulations 1981 ( S.I. No. 390 of 1981 ) are amended –

(a) in Regulation 2 (amended by Regulation 4(1) of the Infectious Diseases (Amendment) Regulations 2007 ( S.I. No. 559 of 2007 )) by the insertion of the following definition:

“ ‘registered pharmacist’ means a person registered in a register set up under section 13 of the Pharmacy Act 2007 (No. 20 of 2007)”, and

(b) in paragraph (c) of Regulation 13(1) (amended by Regulation 4(5) of the Infectious Diseases (Amendment) Regulations 2007 ( S.I. No. 559 of 2007 )) by the insertion of “or any registered pharmacist” after “a functional area of the Health Service Executive”.

These Regulations amend paragraph (c) of Regulation 13(1) (as amended) of the Infectious Diseases Regulations 1981 ( S.I. No. 390 of 1981 ) to provide for the supply from the Health Service Executive to registered pharmacists of such agents as per that regulation.
