I, FRANCES FITZGERALD, Minister for Justice and Equality, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 20 (1) of the International Protection Act 2015 (No. 66 of 2015), hereby make the following regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the International Protection Act 2015 (Places of Detention) Regulations 2016.

(2) These Regulations come into operation on 31 December 2016.

2. Each place specified in Parts 1 and 2 of the Schedule is a place prescribed for the purposes of section 20 of the International Protection Act 2015 (No. 66 of 2015).
