Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

I, HELEN MCENTEE, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (1) of section 72A (inserted by section 122 of the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (Consequential Provisions) Act (No. 23 of 2020)) of the International Protection Act 2015 (No. 66 of 2015) (as adapted by the Justice and Equality (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2020 ( S.I. No. 452 of 2020 )), and being satisfied, in accordance with the section and in relation to the country specified in Article 3 of the following order, as to the matters specified in subsection (2) of the said section 72A, hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the International Protection Act 2015 (Safe Third Country) Order 2020.

(2) This Order shall come into operation at 11.00 p.m. on 31 December 2020.

2. In this Order, “United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland” includes the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

3. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is designated as a safe third country for the purposes of the International Protection Act 2015 (No. 66 of 2015).

This Order designates the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland as a safe third country for the purposes of the International Protection Act 2015 .
