PHYSIOTHERAPISTS REGISTRATION BOARD DELAYED
ENTRY APPLICANTS BYE-LAW 2019.
The Physiotherapists Registration Board, in exercise of the powers
conferred in it by section 31 of the Health and Social Care Professionals
Act 2005 (as amended), with the approval of the Health and Social
Care Professionals Council, has made a bye-law entitled as above.
This bye-law details the criteria and conditions which must be satised
by an applicant for registration in the register of physiotherapists
established and maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration
Board, if he or she wishes to commence practice of the profession after
a period of two years or more has passed since that person obtained an
approved qualication within the meaning of section 38 of the Act or
was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Applied Health Science and a
Diploma in Physical Therapy by the Institute of Physical Therapy and
Applied Science Dublin after 1 January 2013.

APPLICANTS BYE-LAW 2019.
The Optical Registration Board, in exercise of the powers conferred
in it by section 31 of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act
2005 (as amended), with the approval of the Health and Social Care
Professionals Council, has made a bye-law entitled as above.
This bye-law details the criteria and conditions which must be satised
by an applicant for registration in the register of Optometrists or a
division of the register of Dispensing Opticians if he or she intends
to apply to commence practice of the profession after a period of
two years or more has passed since that person obtained an approved
qualication within the meaning of section 38 of the Act.

PERSONAL INJURIES ASSESSMENT BOARD (FEES)
(AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2019.
The purpose of these Regulations is to set out the charge on claimants,
to be made by the Personal Injuries Assessment Board in respect of the
processing of applications by the Board. They provide for a variation
of the charge depending on whether documents are submitted in paper
or electronic format.
The Regulations come into effect on 1 September 2019.

EUROPEAN UNION (SAFETY OF TOYS) (AMENDMENT)
REGULATIONS 2019.
Ms Heather Humphreys, T.D., Minister for Business, Enterprise and
Innovation, in exercise of the powers conferred on her by section 3 of
the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) has made the
following Statutory Instrument, S.I. No. 362 of 2018.
These Regulations give effect to Commission Directive 2018/725/
EU of 16 May 2018 which amends, for the purpose of adaptation to
technical and scientic developments, point 13 of part III of Annex
II to Directive 2009/48/EC of the European Parliament and of the
Council on the safety of toys, as regards chromium VI. This Directive
lowers the limit value for chromium VI in scraped-off toy material
such as paints on toys, hard and soft polymers, wood textiles, and
others.
