IRISH STANDARD REVOCATIONS
Irish Standards based on adopted European Standards (ENs) published
between 1961 and 1998 under the Industrial Research and Standards
Act 1961, the Science and Technology Act 1978 and the National
Standards Authority of Ireland Act 1996 remain current until revised
by European Organizations responsible for them.
These standards (where they have been revised) are hereby revoked
and details of their replacement standards are available on the NSAI

EUROPEAN ARREST WARRANT (APPLICATION TO THIRD
COUNTRIES) (UNITED KINGDOM) ORDER 2020.
EXPLANATORY NOTE

legal interpretation.)
This Order applies the provisions of the European Arrest Warrant Act
2003 (No. 45 of 2003) to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Northern Ireland, in light of the coming into operation of the Trade
and Cooperation Agreement between the European Union and the
European Atomic Energy Community, of the one part, and the United
Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, of the other part (‘the
Agreement’).
The Agreement provides for the surrender of persons wanted for
prosecution or punishment as between the Member States of the
European Union and the United Kingdom at Title VII of Part 3.

The purpose of these Regulations is to give further effect to the Trade
and Cooperation Agreement between the European Union and the
European Atomic Energy Community, of the one part, and the United
Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, of the other part (‘the
Agreement’).
The Regulations amend the Criminal Justice (Forensic Evidence and
DNA Database System) Act 2014 (No. 11 of 2014) by including the
Agreement within the denition of ‘European Union or international
instrument’ provided for at section 109 of that Act.

The purpose of this order is to amend the European Arrest Warrant Act
2003 (Designated Member States) Order 2004 (S.I. No. 4 of 2004)
in light of the withdrawal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain
and Northern Ireland from the European Union, and the expiry of the
transition period provided for under the Agreement on the Withdrawal
of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the
European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community.
