SOCIAL WELFARE (TEMPORARY PROVISIONS – LIVING

ALONE ALLOWANCE) REGULATIONS 2022.

The Living Alone Allowance is payable to—

• people aged 66 years or over who are in receipt of social

welfare payments, such as State pensions, widow’s and

widower’s pensions etc., and

• people who are under 66 years of age who are in receipt of

long-term illness and disability payments, such as disability

allowance, invalidity pension, incapacity supplement and

blind pension, who are living alone.

These Regulations provide for a once-off bonus payment of €200.00

in the weekly increase payable to recipients of certain long-term social

welfare payments who are living alone (Living Alone Allowance)

payable during the week commencing 14 November 2022.

SMALL PUBLIC SERVICE VEHICLE (CONTINGENCY

MEASURE – VEHICLE SUPPLY) (MAXIMUM PERMISSIBLE

AGE) REGULATIONS 2022.

The National Transport Authority, in exercise of the powers conferred

on it by section 20 of the Taxi Regulation Acts 2013 and 2016 (No.

37 of 2013), hereby makes the regulations entitled above to make

exceptional and temporary provision, having regard to current vehicle

supply issues, and in order to mitigate the likely adverse impact on

essential public transport services arising from the lack of supply of

new vehicles.

The purpose of these Regulations is to amend Regulation 31 of the

Taxi Regulation (Small Public Service Vehicle) Regulations 2015,

Maximum Permissible Age Requirements and to revoke the Small

Public Service Vehicle (Emergency Measure Covid-19) Regulations

2021 (S.I. 482 of 2021). This amendment is made as an exceptional

provision and contingency measure resultant from current vehicle

supply issues.

OFFENCES AND DRIVER LICENCE PERIOD)

REGULATIONS 2022.

The National Transport Authority, in exercise of the powers conferred

on it by section 7 and section 48 of the Taxi Regulation Acts 2013 and

2016 (No. 37 of 2013 as amended), has made Regulations as entitled

as above.

The purpose of the Small Public Service Vehicle (Fixed Payment

Offences and Driver Licence Period) Regulations 2022 is to amend

Schedule 8 of the Taxi Regulation (Small Public Service Vehicle)

Regulations 2015 (SI. No. 33 of 2015) in relation to the prescribed

amounts for xed payment offences and the addition of a prescribed

amount for offences in relation to unreasonable refusal to provide

services to a passenger seated in their wheelchair, together with an

amendment to the period of validity of a SPSV driver licence.
