IRISH STANDARD REVOCATIONS
Irish Standards based on adopted European Standards (ENs) published
between 1961 and 1998 under the Industr ial Research and Standards
Act 1961, the Science and Technology Act 1978 and the National
Standards Authority of Ireland Act 1996 remain current until revised by
European Organizations responsible for them.
These standards (where they have been revised) are hereby revoked and
details of their replacement standards are available on the NSAI website
(www.nsai.ie).

ROAD TRAFFIC ACT 2024 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER
2025
This Order commences section 4 of the Road Traffic Act 2024 with
effect from 31 March 2025. Section 4 amends section 2 of the 2002 Act
by the addition of a new subsection (8A) so that, in future, penalty
points will be endorsed in cases of an ancillary disqualification, where
that disqualification is for a period up to and including six months.

TAXI REGULATION (TAXI MAXIMUM PERMISSIBLE AGE)
REGULATIONS 2025
The principal purpose of these Regulations is to amend Regulatio n 31
of the Taxi Regulation (Small Public Service Vehicle) Regulations
2015 (as amended) in relation to its maximum permissible age
requirements with respect to vehicles registered during 2015 that are
used as taxis and which otherwise would be due to reach their maximum
permissible age in 2025. The amendment extends that maximum
permitted service life of such a taxi by twelve months.

LAWS 2025
These Bye-laws apply to bus services provided by certain bus operators
on behalf of the National Transport Authority and specify the rules for
the boarding and alighting from a large public service vehicle while it
is in motion and the rules for signalling or other indications causing the
driver of a large public service vehicle to stop the large public service
vehicle for the purpose of enabling a person boa rd, or to alight from,
the large public service vehicle that apply to omnibus’ on a route or
portion of a route on which there are stands or stopping places and the
rules for all other large public service vehicles.
