ELECTRICITY REGULATION ACT 1999 (PUBLIC SERVICE
OBLIGATIONS) AMENDMENT ORDER 2025
The Order modifies and updates the Electricity Regulation Act 1999
(Public Service Obligations) Order 2002 (S.I. No. 217 of 2002), the
principal order, dealing with the public service obligation on electricity
consumers. This Order sp ecifically updates the principal order in
respect of the addition of the Small-scale Renewable Electricity Support
Scheme and the provision of a statutory basis for the Commission for
the Regulation for Utilities (CRU) to make payments to suppliers
included on the PSO Order once generation has commenced in
accordance with the terms of the relevant Small-scale Renewable
Electricity Support Scheme competition. The order updates the
principal order in respect of re newable energy projects in the
Renewable Energy Feed in Tariff Schemes and the Renewable
Electricity Support Schemes.
