IRISH STANDARD REVOCATIONS
Irish Standards based on adopted European Standards (ENs)
published between 1961 and 1998 under the Industrial Research and
Standards Act 1961, the Science and Technology Act 1978 and the
National Standards Authority of Ireland Act 1996 remain current until
revised by European Organizations responsible for them.
These standards (where they have been revised) are hereby revoked
and details of their replacement standards are available on the NSAI
website (www.nsai.ie).

LOCAL PROPERTY TAX (LOCAL ADJUSTMENT
FACTOR) REGULATIONS 2026
These Regulations provide the requirements for local authorities who
may wish to vary their local property tax rates for a specified period,
in accordance with Section 20 of the Finance (Local Property Tax)
Act 2012 (as amended), including the factors that they must consider
and the type of public consultation that they should undertake as part
of the process. These Regulations r evoke and replace the previous
regulations; the Local Property Tax (Local Adjustment Factor)
Regulations 2022 (S.I. 358/2022).

This Statutory Instrument amends the Road Traffic (Traffic and
Parking) Regulations 1997 to create a targeted exemption for buses
from an existing traffic prohib ition, where a clearly signed bus
priority facility is in place.

ROAD TRAFFIC (TRAFFIC SIGNS) (AMENDMENT)
REGULATIONS 2026
The principal objective is to enable, regulate and standardise the use
of hard shoulders as bus priority facilities on national roads,
consistent with powers under section 43 of the Roads Act 1993. The
Regulations ensure that such facilities are clearly defined in law,
appropriately signed, and visua lly distinct from general carriageway
space.

ROADS (M4 (BUS PRIORITY FACILITY)) REGULATIONS
2026
These Regulations provide the legal basis for the temporary or
conditional use of the hard shoulder on a specified section o f the M4
motorway as a bus priority facility. The Regulations are made under
powers conferred by the Roads Act 1993 the Road Traffic Act 1994
with cro ss-references to existing Roads and Traffic Regulations to
ensure consistency with the current legislative framework.
