EUROPEAN UNION (RESTRICTIVE MEASURES
CONCERNING SYRIA) REGULATIONS 2026
The Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, Peter Burke,
T.D., in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the
European Communities Act 1972 (No 27 of 1972), has made
Regulations that may be cited as the European Union (Restrictive
Measures concerning Syria) Regulations 2026.
These Regulations provide for the enforcement of restrictive
measures contained in Council Regulation (EU) No. 36/2012,
regarding restrictive measures concerning Syria. The Regulatio ns
provide that competent authorities of the State may issue directions
for the purpose of giving full effect to the sanctions. The Regulations
create offences for breach of the Council Regulations or for failure to
comply with the directions of competent authorities of the State with
regard to implementation of the sanctions and provides for
appropriate penalties.

37(1B) (inserted by section 1(b) of the National Oil Reserves Agency
(Amendment) Act 2026 (No. 6 of 2026)) of the National Oil Reserves
Agency Act 2007 (No. 7 of 2007)), has made the Order as entitled
above.
This Order reduces the rate of the levy referred to in section 37(1A)(a)
of the Act of 2007 to €0.001 per litre of relevant disposals of
petroleum products during th e period beginning on 2 June 2 026 and
ending on 31 July 2026.

(AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2026
The Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, Peter Burke,
T.D., in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the
European Communities Act 1972 (No 27 of 1972), has made
Regulations that may be cited as the European Communities (Intra-
Community Transfers of Defence Related Products) (Amendment)
Regulations 2026.
These Regulations give effect to Commission Delegated Directive
(EU) 2026/325 of 27 October 2025, amending Directive 2009/43/EC
of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the updating
of the list of defence-related products in line with the updated
Common Military List of the European Union of 24 February 2025.
The Regulations revoke the European Communities (Intra-
Community Transfers of Defence Related Products) (Amendment)
Regulations 2025 (S.I. No. 210 of 2025).
