by Council Regul ation 1111/2019, as well as Council Regulation
(EC) No 4/2009, providing for service out of the jurisdiction in certain
matrimonial and maintenance matters.

PROTECTION OF EMPLOYEES (EMPLOYERS’
INSOLVENCY) (AMENDMENT) ACT 2026
(COMMENCEMENT) (NO. 2) ORDER 2026
The Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, in exercise of
the powers conferred on him by section 1(3) of the Protection of
Employees (Employers’ Insolvency) ( Amendment) Act 2026 (No. 7
of 2026), has made the Order as entitled above.
This Order appoints the 8th day of June 2026 as the day on which the
following provisions of the Protection of Employees (Employers’
Insolvency) (Amendment) Act 2026 (No. 7 o f 2026) shall come into
operation: paragraphs (a) and (b) of section 4; subparagraph (i) of
paragraph (c) of section 4; subparagraph (ii) of paragraph (c) of
section 4 in so far as it relates to the amendment of section 1(3) of the
Protection of Employees (Employers’ Insolvency) Act 1984 (“Act of
1984”) by the insertion of paragraph (g); paragraphs (a) and (b) of
section 5; paragraph (c) of section 5 in so far as it relates to the
amendment of section 4(1) of the Act of 198 4 by the insertion of
paragraph (i); paragraph (d) of section 5 in so far as it relates to the
amendment of section 4 of the Act of 1984 by th e insertion of
subsection (4); section 6, other than in so far as it relat es to the
insertion of section 4F in the Act of 1984; paragraph (a) of section 7,
in so far as it relates to the insertion of subsections (1A) and (1C) in
section 6(1) of the Act of 1984; paragraph (b) of section 7;
subparagraph (ii) of paragraph (e) of section 7, in so far as it relates
to the insertion of paragraph (ab) in the definition of “the relevant
date” in section 6(9) of the Act of 1984; section 9, in so far as it is not
already in operation; section 10; and, section 12.

PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT (AMENDMENT (ACT OF
2000)) REGULATIONS 2026
The Minister of State for Housing, Local Government and Heritage,
Mr John Cummins T.D., has made Regulations entitled as above.
The Regulations are made unde r section 33 of the Planning and
Development Act 2000, as amended.
These Regulation s amend a rticle 22(2)(g) o f the P rincipal
Regulations to provide that in the case of a proposed development, or
part of a proposed development, where the applicant is ESB
Networks, written confirmation of the intention of the applicant to
utilise its wayleave powers under section 53 of the Electricity
(Supply) Act, 1927. The Regulations also provide for an amendment
to the template planning application form in the Schedule 3 of the
Principal Regulations so that ESB Networks can submit written
confirmation with any application form for planning permission.
