212(4)) (PRESCRIBED HOUSING SUPPORTS)

REGULATIONS 2026

The Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, in exercise of

the powers conferred by subsection (4 ) of section 212 of the

International Protection Act 2026 (No. 9 of 2026), has made the

following Order.

This SI prescribes a list of prescribed housing supports for the purpose

of section 205 of the Act. This section provides that a person may not

be in receipt of prescribed housing supports for a period of two years

prior to their application for family reun ification (subject to a grace

period of 6 months cumulatively in the previous 2 years).

The Order will come into operation on 12 June 2026.

REGULATIONS 2026

The Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, in exercise of

the powers conferred by subsection (3 ) of section 212 of the

International Protection Act 2026 (No. 9 of 2026), has made the

following Order.

This SI prescribes a list of social welfare payments for the purpose of

section 205 of the Act. Under this section, a person may not be in

receipt of a prescribed social welfare payment for a p eriod of two

years prior to their application for family reunification (subject to a

grace period of 6 months cumulatively in the previous 2 years).

The Order will come into operation on 12 June 2026.

212(1)) (MINIMUM LEVELS OF INCOME) REGULATIONS

2026

The Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, in exercise of

the powers conferred by subsection (1 ) of section 212 of the

International Protection Act 2026 (No. 9 of 2026), has made the

following Order.

This SI prescribes minimum levels of income for the purpose of

section 205 of the Act. Section 205 provides that a person must be in

receipt of prescribed levels of income at the time of their application

for family reunification. Prescribed levels of income take account of

both the nature of the family relationship and the number of family

members with whom a sponsor applies to be reunited with.

The Order will come into operation on 12 June 2026.
