EUROPEAN UNION (RESTRICTIVE MEASURES AGAINST
THE PROLIFERATION AND USE OF CHEMICAL
WEAPONS) REGULATIONS 2026
The Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, Peter Burke,
T.D., in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the
European Communities Act 1972 (No 27 of 1972), has made
Regulations that may be cited as the European Union (Restrictive
Measures Against the Proliferation and Use of Chemical Weapons)
Regulations 2026.
These Regulations provide for the enforcement of restrictive
measures contained in Council Regulation (EU) No. 2018/1542,
regarding restrictive measures Against the Proliferation and Use of
Chemical Weapons. The Regulations provide that competent
authorities of the State may issue directions for the purpose of giving
full effect to the sanctions. The Regulations create offences for breach
of the Council Regulations or for failure to comply with the directions
of competent authorities of the State with regard to implementation
of the sanctions and provides for appropriate penalties.

The Revenue Commissioners, in exercise of the powers conferred on
them by section 481 of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997 (No. 39 of
1997), with the consent o f the Minister for Finance, and with the
consent of the Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport in
relation to the matters to be considered regarding the issue of
certification, made Regulations on 16 July 2026 as entitled above.
These Regulations amend the Film Regulatio ns 2019 (S.I. 119 of
2019) to provide for the enhanced credit amount for visual effects.
