CRIMINAL JUSTICE (INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

ON ELECTRONIC EVIDENCE AND OTHER MATTERS)

ACT 2026 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER 2026

The Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration, pursuant to

section 1(2) of the Criminal Justice (International cooperation on

Electronic Evidence and Other Matters) Act 2026, Number 21 of

2026, has made this order to commence the provisions of the Act,

other than sections 1 to 3, Part 2 and section 26 (which are already in

effect) and sections 4 and 5, with effect from 10 August 2026.

This provides for the designation of the Director of Criminal Justice

International Cooperation as

- the enforcing authority and central authority for the purposes

of Regulation (EU) 2023/1543 on European Production

Orders and European Preservation Orders for electronic

evidence in criminal proceedings and for the execution of

custodial sentences following criminal proceedings and

- the central authority for Directive (EU) 2023/1544 laying

down harmonised rules on the designation o f designated

establishments and the appointment of legal representatives

for the purpose of gathering electronic evidence in criminal

proceedings and gives effect to the provisions of that

Directive in Irish law.

CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS ACT, 2013

Mr. Alan Dillon T.D., Minister of State at the Department of

Enterprise, Tourism and Employment with special responsibility for

Employment, Small Business and Retail, in exercise of the powers

conferred on him by the Construction Cont racts Act, 2013, has

appointed Mr. Bernard Gogarty as Chairperson of the Construction

Contracts Adjudication Panel, established under section 8 of the

Construction Contracts Act, 2013. The term of appointment is for the

period commencing on the 10th of August 20 26 and ending on the

6th of March 2031.
