LIVE: Thousands of Dublin northside homes without water due to burst water main, repair works to continue on Friday

Uisce Eireann say they are working together with Dublin City Council to repair the burst water main and to restore water to households and businesses. Water services crews are currently onsite, although residents in areas affected in the city centre and surrounding suburbs, and Uisce Eireann has said in an update this evening that the repair works may not be completed until 6pm on Friday

Uisce Eireann has added that it is "working to restore water supply as quickly as possible to impacted customers" across the city centre and suburbs.

The following areas have been affected:

Dolphin's Barn, Harolds Cross, Kilmainham, Fleet Street, Brunswich Street, The Liberties, Gardener Street, Dorset Street, Drumcondra, Whitehall, Artane, Coolock, Beaumont, Fairview, Raheny, Clontarf, Killester, Home Farm and surrounding areas.

Uisce Eireann have released the following statement: "Uisce Éireann is working with Dublin City Council, to restore water supply as quickly as possible to impacted customers in parts of the city centre and surrounding suburbs following a burst to a high-pressure water main.
