Matheson Collaboration With Academia Sees Graduates Reap The Rewards

Matheson is pleased to announce that two Maynooth University law students have been awarded prizes for their contributions on the specialised Funds Law course which is delivered by Matheson as part of the Maynooth University LLM in Global Legal Studies and the LLM in International Business Law awarded jointly by Maynooth University and the University of Lyon, France.

Students Ronan Califf from Louth and Shane O'Callaghan from Cork competed for the legal writing prize and also a six-month internship at Matheson, working with the firm's Asset Management and Investment Funds Group.

Formally announcing the winners at a special event to honour Shane and Ronan and their families, Head of Investment Funds, Tara Doyle, said: "Matheson is delighted to be part of Shane and Ronan's success story to date, and to help fast-track them into a thriving sector of Ireland's economy through this dynamic third level initiative. Partnerships such as this between academia and industry are vital to develop Irish university students' expertise and employment prospects, and to give them the skills necessary to succeed in the Irish international financial services sector."
