In accordance with Section 41 of the Workplace Relations Act, 2015 and/or Section 25 of the Equal Status Act 2000,following the referral of the complaint to me by the Director General, I inquired into the complaint and gave the parties an opportunity to be heard and to present any evidence relevant to the complaint.
Background:
The complainant submitted a complaint under section 21 of the Equal Status Act 2000 which was received by the Workplace Relations Commission on 8th December 2021. |
The complainant did not attend the hearing which was scheduled for 9.30am on Wednesday 2nd November 2022 in the Workplace Relations Commission Hearing Rooms in Carlow. |
Summary of Respondent’s Case:
The respondent attended the hearing to answer the complaint. |
Findings and Conclusions:
I deferred the commencement of the hearing until 9.45am to allow the complainant adequate time in case she was delayed. I am satisfied that the complainant was notified of the time, date and venue for the hearing. As no evidence was given at the hearing in support of an allegation of discrimination, I conclude the investigation and find against the complainant. |
Decision:
Section 25 of the Equal Status Acts, 2000 – 2015 requires that I make a decision in relation to the complaint in accordance with the relevant redress provisions under section 27 of that Act.
