The applicants were charged with murder and were returned for trial to the Central Criminal Court, bail being refused by the District Justice and, subsequently, by Mr. Justice McLoughlin. On appeal by the applicants to the Supreme Court it was held by the Supreme Court ( Ó Dálaigh C.J., Lavery and O'Keeffe JJ.) reversing McLoughlin J., that the applicants should be admitted to bail.
