Occupation during the qualifying period - Residence in different wards but in the same Local Government electoral area -Representation of the People Act, 1918 (8 Geo. V., c. 64), s. 3.

By s. 3 of the Representation of the People Act, 1918, a man is entitled to be registered as a Local Government elector for a Local Government electoral area, if he is of full age, and not subject to any legal incapacity, and (a) is on the last day of the qualifying period occupying, as owner or tenant, any land or premises in that area;and (b) has, during the whole of the qualifying period, so occupied any land or premises in that area. The qualifying period fixed by Order in Council for the year 1918 was the six months ending April 15th, 1918. Claimant resided at and carried on his business at premises in H. Street, in the registration unit of Enniskillen (Urban) South Ward, until December 27th, 1917. He then resided at other premises in F. Road, in the registration unit of Enniskillen (Urban) East Ward, but in the same Local Government electoral area, and he resided there for the remainder of the qualifying period. He continued to carry on his business at H. Street. The registration officer admitted his claim as a Local Government elector in respect of the premises in H. Street, but refused his claim in respect of the premises in F. Road...
