REFUGEE ACT, 1996 (SECTIONS 1, 2, 5, 22 AND 25) (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1997

I, John O'Donoghue. T.D., Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 30 of the Refugee Act, 1996 (No. 17 of 1996), hereby order as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Refugee Act 19966 (Sections 1, 2, 5, 22 and 25) (Commencement) Order, 1997. 2. The 29th day of August. 1997. is hereby fixed as the day on which sections 1 , 2 , 5 , 22 and 25 of the Refugee Act 1996 (No. 17 of 1996), shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order commences sections 1 , 2 , 5 , 22 and 25 of the Refugee Act, 1996 with effect from 29 August 1997.
