Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 10th November, 2020.

I, STEPHEN DONNELLY, Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Regulated Professions (Health and Social Care) (Amendment) Act 2020 (No. 16 of 2020), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Regulated Professions (Health and Social Care) (Amendment) Act 2020 (Commencement of Certain Provisions) Order 2020.

2. The 6th day of November 2020 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Regulated Professions (Health and Social Care) (Amendment) Act 2020 (No. 16 of 2020) shall come into operation:

(a) section 1;

(b) section 77;

(c) section 97;

(d) section 100.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

This Order appoints 6th November 2020 as the day on which Section 97 and Section 100 of the Regulated Professions (Health and Social Care) (Amendment) Act 2020 come into operation. These relate to the registration of medical practitioners under the Medical Practitioners Act 2007 .
