ROADS ACT, 1993 (DECLARATION OF NATIONAL ROADS) ORDER, 1994.

The Minister for the Environment, having consulted the National Roads Authority, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 8 and 10 of the Roads Act, 1993 , (No. 14 of 1993), hereby orders and declares as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Roads Act, 1993 (Declaration of National Roads) Order, 1994.

2. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of August, 1994.

3. The public roads numbered in column 1 and described in column 2 of the First and Second Schedules hereto are hereby classified as national roads.

4. The proposed public roads named in column 1 and described in column 2 of the Third Schedule hereto are hereby classified as national roads.

5. The roads classified as national roads by this Order shall be divided into subclasses as follows:

( a ) The national roads in the First and Third Schedules shall be national primary roads.

( b ) The national roads in the Second Schedule shall be national secondary roads.

6. ( a ) Any reference to the number of a road in the description of national roads in column 2 of the First, Second and Third Schedules hereto shall be a reference to the number of such road as shown in column 1 of the said Schedules.

( b ) Any national road, or section thereof, being a motorway and described using block capital letters in column 2 of the First Schedule, shall be numbered as in column 1 of the said Schedule save that the letter M be substituted for the letter N.

7. The Orders referred to in the Fourth Schedule are hereby revoked.
