Ryan v Forfas and National Standards Authority of Ireland

The claimant worked for the respondent for nine years as a secretary. In March 1998 she sent a letter of resignation claiming that while she was ill that she did not receive the support she would have expected from management. She also claimed to have been belittled and insulted. Claimant had being diagnosed with Candida and had to take 4 to 6 weeks off work. During this period the respondent got another person to do some of her work. When she returned from sick leave her employer informed her of his opinion that she was not fit to be back.
