Six people rescued this weekend off Howth coast as temperatures soar

Volunteer lifeboat crew assisted in the case of two separate emergencies this week. The first incident involved a sailing yacht and occurred on Friday shortly after 9pm

Howth RNLI rushed to the aid of three people on board the sailing yacht, which had suffered from engine failure on its passage from Malahide to Howth. The boat was promptly tugged back by the crew to Howth Harbour.

Dublin Coast Guard also received a separate call from a member of the public about a motorboat in difficulty early this morning. Howth RNLI assisted three people on board the motorboat, which was drifting close to rocks east of Howth Harbour.

The lifeboat towed the vehicle and its occupants safely back to the harbour. Howth Coast Guard were also deployed to assist with the incident.
