This was an appeal from a recommendation of the Rights Commissioner. The claimant worked on a scheme operated by St. Benedict's resource Centre which was due to run for the period 27 January 1997 to 31 January 1998. His employment was due to end on 31 December but he received a letter extending it to 31 January 1998. He considered himself unfairly dismissed and was seeking to have a decision of a Rights Commissioner upheld. Other workers had their work extended to March and the budget for the project had provided for his employment up to March.
