SUCCESSION ACT, 1965 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1966

I, BRIAN LENIHAN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Succession Act, 1965 (No. 27 of 1965), hereby order as follows :

1. This Order may be cited as the Succession Act, 1965 (Commencement) Order, 1966.

2. The 1st day of January, 1967, is hereby appointed as the day on which the Succession Act, 1965 , shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings the Succession Act, 1965 , into operation on the 1st day of January, 1967. The Act will apply to the distribution of the estates of all persons dying, whether testate or intestate, on or after that date.
