Tesla, classic luxury cars, watches and cash seized in major sting across four counties

The search operations in Kildare, Waterford, Laois and Dublin targeted an East European Organised Crime Group. The gang is involved with laundering the proceeds of crime through the second hand car trade

They also supply cars to other criminal gangs across the country.

Today's search involved over eighty people searching fifteen search sites. Bureau Officers were supported by the Dublin Armed Support Unit, the Eastern Regional Armed Support Unit, the Stolen Motor Vehicle Investigation Unit, The Customs Dog Unit, Kildare Detective Unit, Portlaoise Detective Unit and Dublin Metropolitan Region detectives.

The stings targeted assets and properties acquired by the directors of the gang.

The seized items were as follows:

One Tesla electric Vehicle

Two BMW IX electric vehicles (221 Reg's)

Two Classic vehicles

€15,000 in cash

A number of high value watches including Rolex and Cartier Brands.

Previous operations in September and October 2021 resulted in the seizure of eighteen high value vehicles including Audi Q7's, BMW X5's, Range Rover's, a Jaguar I-Pace and a Tesla.
