The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Agriculture and Food (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1999.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 27th day of September, 1999.

2. The name of the Department of State, the present name whereof is, in the Irish language, an Roinn Talmhaíochta agus Bia and, in the English language, the Department of Agriculture and Food, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an Roinn Talmhaíochta, Bia agus Forbartha Tuaithe and, in the English language, to that of the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development.
