AGRICULTURE, FOOD AND FORESTRY (ALTERATION OF NAME OF DEPARTMENT AND TITLE OF MINISTER) ORDER, 1997

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Agriculture, Food and Forestry (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1997.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 12th day of July, 1997.

2. The name of the Department of State, the present name whereof is, in the Irish language, an Roinn Talmhaíochta, Bia agus Foraoiseachta and in the English language, the Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an Roinn Talmhaíochta agus Bia and in the English language, to that of the Department of Agriculture and Food.

3. The title of the Minister having charge of the Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language, an tAire Talmhaíochta, Bia agus Foraoiseachta and, in the English language, the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an tAire Talmhaíochta agus Bia and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for Agriculture and Food.

4. In any enactment—

( a ) references to the Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry shall be construed as references to the Department of Agriculture and Food;

( b ) references to the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry shall be construed as references to the Minister for Agriculture and Food.
