CORONERS ACT, 1962 (PARTICULARS FOR REGISTRATION OF DEATH) REGULATIONS, 1962 |
I, CHARLES J. HAUGHEY, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (1) of section 3 of the Coroners Act, 1962 (No. 9 of 1962), after consultation with the Minister for Health, hereby make the following regulations : 1. These Regualtions may be cited as the Coroners Act, 1962 (Particulars for Registration of Death) Regulations, 1962. 2. Every certificate to be issued by a coroner for the registration of a death in accordance with section 50 of the Coroners Act, 1962 (No. 9 of 1962) shall contain the following particulars— |
(a) in the case of a certificate under subsection (1) ; |
(i) date of death, |
(ii) place of death, |
(iii) name, surname and home address of deceased, |
(iv) sex of deceased, |
(v) whether deceased was married, widowed or single, |
(vi) age of deceased (in hours if under one day; in completed days if under one month ; in completed months if under one year ; otherwise in completed years at last birthday), |
(vii) occupation of deceased (in full detail) and where deceased was a married or widowed woman, occupation of husband, |
(viii) cause of death and duration of last illness ; and |
(b) in the case of a certificate under subsection (2) ; |
(i) date of death, |
(ii) place of death, |
(iii) name, surname and home address of deceased. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE |
These regulations prescribe the particulars to be furnished by a coroner to a registrar of deaths. |
