DUBLIN COUNTY (DISTRICT ELECTORAL DIVISIONS) REGULATIONS, 1971.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 89 of the Electoral Act, 1963 (No. 19 of 1963) hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Dublin County (District Electoral Divisions) Regulations, 1971.

2. These Regulations shall come into force on the 15th day of April, 1971.

3. In these Regulations—

(1) "the County" means the County of Dublin.

(2) "the County Borough" means the County Borough of Dublin.

(3) "the Borough" means the Borough of Dún Laoghaire.

4. The County shall be divided into the district electoral divisions specified in the first column of the Schedule to these Regulations.

5. (1) Each district electoral division shall consist of the area described in the second column of the Schedule to these Regulations opposite the name of such district electoral division.

(2) In the Schedule to these Regulations—

(a) a reference to a line drawn along any road, street, railway line, river or canal, shall be construed as a reference to a line drawn along the centre of such road, street, railway line, river or canal;

(b) a reference to the point at which any road, street, railway line, river or canal, is said to intersect or to join any road, street, railway line, river or canal, shall be construed as a reference to the point at which a line drawn along the centre of the one would be intersected or joined by a line drawn along the centre of the other;

(c) a reference to the point at which any road, river or canal, intersects or joins a boundary shall be construed as a reference to the point at which a line drawn along the centre of such road, river or canal, would intersect or join such boundary;

(d) a reference to any townland which is situated partly in the County and partly in the County Borough or, partly in the County and partly in the Borough, shall be construed as a reference to that part of the townland which is not situated in the County Borough of the Borough.

Balbriggan Urban

The town of Balbriggan, comprising the townland of Tankardstown and those parts of the townlands of Balbriggan and Hampton Demesne situated in the town of Balbriggan.

Ballyboghil

The townlands of:—

Ballyboghil, Barnanstown, Belinstown (in the parish of Ballyboghill), Calliaghstown, Clonswords, Dooroge, Drishoge (in the parish of Ballyboghil), Ellistown, Gerrardstown, Grange (in the parish of Ballyboghil), Leastown, Mainscourt, Murragh, Newtown (in the parish of Westpalstown), Roscall, Westpalstown and Wyanstown.

Ballybrack Number One

That part of the County situated within a line drawn as follows:—

Commencing at the junction of Rochestown Avenue and Sallynoggin Road; thence in a north-easterly direction along Sallynoggin Road to its junction with the Dún Laoghaire Borough boundary; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along the Borough boundary to its junction with Stillorgan Road; thence in a north-westerly direction along Stillorgan Road to its junction with Johnstown Road; thence in a north-easterly direction along Johnstown Road to its junction with Rochestown Avenue; thence in a north-westerly direction along Rochestown Avenue to the starting point.

Ballybrack Number Two

The townlands of:—

Carrickmines Great, Cherrywood, Laughanstown and Tiknick;

that part of the townland of Brennanstown situated south of a line drawn as follows: Commencing at the junction of the former Harcourt Street-Bray railway line and Claremount Road; thence in a northerly direction along Claremount Road to its junction with Brennanstown Road; thence commencing in a south-easterly direction and proceeding along Brennanstown Road to its junction with Stillorgan Road; and that part of the townland of Loughlinstown situated west of a line drawn along Stillorgan Road.

Balscadden

The townlands of:—

Balgaddy (in the parish of Balscadden), Balscadden, Commons (1st Division), Commons (2nd Division), Dermotstown, Drummans, Gormanston Demesne, Grange (in the parish of Balscadden), Hayestown (in the parish of Balscadden), Killougher, Matt, Milestown, Newtown (in the parish of Balscadden), Priorland, Rath (in the parish of Balscadden), Ring, Ring Commons, Sevenparks (1st Division), Sevenparks (2nd Division), Sevenparks (3rd Division), Stamullin, Tobersool, Tobertaskin, Tobertown and Whitestown (in the parish of Balscadden).

Blanchardstown

The townlands of:—

That part of the County situated within a line drawn as follows:—

Commencing at the junction of the Grand Canal and the County Borough boundary; thence commencing in a south-easterly direction and proceeding along the County Borough boundary to its junction with Ballymount Road Lower; thence commencing in a westerly direction and proceeding along Ballymount Road Lower to its junction with Belgard Road; thence in a north-westerly direction along Belgard Road and New Road to its junction with Main Street, Clondalkin; thence in a south-westerly direction along Main Street to its junction with Tower Road; thence in a northerly direction along Tower Road and Ninth Lock Road to its junction with the Grand Canal; thence in an easterly direction along the Grand Canal to the starting point.

Clondalkin Number Two

The townlands of:—

Ballybane, Bawnoges, Bedlesshill, Brideswell Commons, Buckandhounds, Cheeverstown, Clonburris Great, Clutterland (in the parish of Clondalkin), Commons (in the parish of Clondalkin), Corkagh, Corkagh Demesne, Deansrath, Fairview, Gibraltar, Kilmahuddrick, Kingswood, Nangor, Newlands Demesne and Priest Town; that part of the townland of Clondalkin situated west of a line drawn as follows:—

Commencing at Newlands Crossroads; thence in a northerly direction along New Road to its junction with Main Street, Clondalkin; thence in a south-westerly direction along Main Street to its junction with Tower Road; thence in a northerly direction along Tower Road and Ninth Lock Road to its junction with the Grand Canal;

and that part of the townland of Kishoge situated south of a line drawn along the Grand Canal.

Clonmethan
