I, JOHN O'DONOGHUE, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 48 of the Equal Status Act, 2000 (No. 8 of 2000), order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Equal Status Act, 2000 (Section 47) (Commencement) Order, 2000.

2. The 14th day of June, 2000, is fixed as the day on which section 47 of the Equal Status Act, 2000 , shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

The effect of this Order is to bring into operation section 47 of the Equal Status Act, 2000 , which is in respect of transitional arrangements for the Employment Equality Act, 1998 .
