FOREWORD
Over
the past
four
years,
the
Trinity
College
Law
Review
has
become
essential
reading
material, not
just
for
students
of
the
Law, but
also
for
many
in
the
wider
legal
community.
Great
credit
is
due
to
the
student
editorial
team
for
putting
together such
a
wide-ranging
and
topical
collection
of
articles for
this
year's
volume.
In
recent
years,
young
people
have faced
increasing
pressure
to compete
and
succeed
academically,
and
students
of
the
law
are no
exception.
First,
they
must
achieve
an
ever
higher
tally
of
points
to
study
their
chosen
discipline,
and
then
enter
the
treadmill
of
passing
examinations,
achieving
qualifications
and
ultimately finding
work.
It
is
a
system
that
has been
tried
and
tested
over
the
years,
but
there
is
a
danger that
it
can
lead to
an
overly
narrow
focus
of
study
and
intellectual
exploration.
The
world
around
is
changing.
New
fields
are
constantly
opening
up
in
business,
competition,
public
affairs,
electronic commerce,
human
rights
and
ethics.
The
law
as
a
profession
must
take
account
of
such
developments,
and
that
is
why
this
publication
is
of
such
value.
With
articles
ranging
from
American
Constitutional Jurisprudence to
the
enforcement
of
European
Competition
Law and
the interaction
of
human
rights
law
with traditional
Hindu Law
in
modem
India,
this
Review
addresses
a
broad spectrum
of
highly
relevant
issues
for
the
legal
profession today
and
in
the future.
I
warmly
welcome
this
publication
and
congratulate the editorial
team
and
contributors
on
their
achievement.
