INDUSTRY AND COMMERCE (ALTERATION OF NAME OF DEPARTMENT AND TITLE OF MINISTER) ORDER, 1993.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Industry and Commerce (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1993.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 20th day of January, 1993.

2. The name of the Department of State, the present name whereof is, in the Irish language, an Roinn Tionscail agus Tráchtála and, in the English language, the Department of Industry and Commerce, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an Roinn Fiontar agus Fostaíochta and, in the English language, to that of the Department of Enterprise and Employment.

3. The title of the Minister having charge of the Department of State, whose present title is in the Irish language, an tAire Tionscail agus Tráchtála and, in the English language, the Minister for Industry and Commerce, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an tAire Fiontar agus Fostaíochta and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for Enterprise and Employment.

4. In any enactment—

( a ) references to the Department of Industry and Commerce shall be construed as references to the Department of Enterprise and Employment,

( b ) references to the Minister for Industry and Commerce shall be construed as references to the Minister for Enterprise and Employment.
