Local Government (Mayor of Limerick) and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2024 (Commencement) Order 2024

I, DARRAGH O’BRIEN, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1(3) of the Local Government (Mayor of Limerick) and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2024 (No. 7 of 2024), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Mayor of Limerick) and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2024 (Commencement) Order 2024.

2. The 31^st day of March 2024 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Local Government (Mayor of Limerick) and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 2024 (No. 7 of 2024) shall come into operation:

(a) Part 1, other than sections 4 and 5;

(b) subsection (3) of section 13 insofar as it provides for a definition of “mayoral by-election”;

(c) section 20;

(d) Part 5;

(e) Part 8 insofar as it is not already in operation;
